Rob DeBoer: We always thought that they'd paid a lot of money for kind of a questionable property. And so I went to the licensing agent and said, "Listen, everybody's driving me crazy. I said, "How long am I going to do this?". You would go to the [original] site and you would get a request timeout. It was produced by the Boomtang Boys. And he had gone to the Boomtang Boys, and they recorded, without our knowledge, "The Hampsterdance Song. We have no idea why they embraced us. Hampster can also refer to the New Zealand acid jazz group Hampster, who … Deidre LaCarte just took it and put it behind her hamster. It all started with Deirdre Lacarte, an art student who was living in British Columbia, Canada in the summer of 1998. Ricardo Autobahn: We didn't expect him to play it. Tony Grace: It really helped us. Hiring an animation studio from New Jersey, Abatis produced a straight-to-DVD remake of Holiday Inn, that old Christmas musical starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. Later, she added a looping song in the background, which was at the cutting edge of HTML design in those early days of the internet. Hazel Steenman: People were hitting on the webpage.
