Everything seemed to tie together a little too conveniently, for instance just because they saved two humans the curse was broken. Shortly after discovering her abilities, however, she was pushed off of the Coit Tower by a rogue working for the Order, an organization whose only goal is to exterminate the Mai race. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. The Mai are unique & interesting making for a great plot. She doesn’t deserve either of them, honestly. It doesn't necessarily mean it was a bad book. Which contributed largely to me deciding that this is my favorite out of the two apart from the insane amount of character development. I mean, if I was a little bit younger then I would have definitely enjoyed it more, because reading it now I felt it was childish at some moments. At times the resolution felt like it was too easy/too simple, however it was exactly what I was looking for in a fluffy read. The plot was predictable and cheesy and I had no emotional attach!ent to the characters. She later found out Xavier had died, and dejected, ran away from Jasmine and Alek, who discovered Chloe was the Uniter. Chloe takes him home and tells him to shower while she accompanied Frank, Meredith’s date. Chloe doesn't want to bring Brian to the hospital because they might ask difficult questions, so she brings him to Firebird Mansion, which is Sergei's mansion and the Mai headquarters. At school, Chloe is talking to Amy about Xavier and Alek comes along and tries to get her attention, she gets annoyed and throws his basketball and it lands in the trashcan. She goes to class (most of the time), fights with her mom, and crushes on a boy…or two. The one went back to being only okay, and sorta mediocre. What I really did like about this book was that it had a lot less fighting, and it was mainly about Chloe deciding if she wants to be the leader of the Mai.
